MD Leadership Development MODULE 1

First module of the MD Leadership Development Program. There is mandatory Pre-work. Before you attend please scroll down to complete this.

Description

We are excited to launch a new leadership development program uniquely designed to support our managing directors who lead teams. This is the first interactive module, intentionally scheduled ahead of mid-year performance discussions. This will maximize our collective opportunity to build trust and give feedback consistently.

Each session will be kicked-off by an Executive Leadership Team (ELT) member and will provide you with an opportunity to connect virtually with peers from across the business, learn together, share experiences, and come away with new tools and skills to lead your teams forward.

All of us on the ELT are looking forward to your active participation.

In this video you will hear from Amy Edmonson, Novartis Professor of Leadership & Management at Harvard Business School, about creating a culture of psychological safety. Edmonson has been recognized by the biannual Thinkers50 global ranking of top management thinkers since 2011, ranking first overall in 2021 and 2023; she also received the organization’s Breakthrough Idea Award in 2019. Her research focuses on topics such as teaming, psychological safety and organizational learning.  In her 2019 book, The Fearless Organization; Creating Psychological Safety in the Workplace for Learning, Innovation and Growth, Edmonson explores how to foster psychological safety within organizations to encourage growth.

PART 2

Please come prepared to discuss one scenario as follows:

  • Reflect on an example of a challenging circumstance where you delivered a feedback session which didn’t go to plan; or
  • Come with an example of some difficult feedback you want to deliver to someone but have been avoiding or finding difficulty with.
